We asked the nearly one hundred children admitted to the Pediatric Oncology Department of Fundeni Clinical Institute, Bucharest,Romania, to write a letter to the Easter Bunny to say what gift they want. Many kids have simply written: "Health" or "Pajamas for the Hospital". Others have asked for new clothes, other toys, others for bicycles, tablets and other laptops to write their school projects from the hospital, so they will not stay behind with their lessons. We took into account all the desires of children with leukemia and cancer and, together with our friends from Horizone IT, on the Holy Week we visited the children and offered them new clothes and the much wanted gifts. It was for the first time, after many visits, when we saw the little ones really laughing. They were simply happy! Likewise, their mothers, who are hospitalized with their children in the hospital, to take care of them, also smiled. We want to repeat this Easter visit every year and expand it to more hospitals. I have clearly seen how therapy through laughter or even the slightest joy can give strength to children. It is very important that they are positive and cheerful to be able to fight these ugly diseases called cancer or leukemia.
