Violeta Vinogradof is a woman from Visinesti, Dambovita County, who had cervical cancer and has three children, one of whom is an autistic. The landslides destroyed their home, and they were left hemeless. "Violeta’s House" is one of the most visible projects, run by our association in 2017, but also the most difficult, with a lot of emotional involvement, with many financial and time implications.
When we met Violeta at the beginning of 2017, she thought she had escaped cancer. We offered to rebuild her house.Said and done: with the help of the volunteers we demolished the house and then we started building. Every cent which we bought the building materials or paid with the builders came from hundreds of donors, who watched Violeta's story on Facebook and who, from the little they had, donated as much as they had.
Meanwhile, Violeta's health has worsened and we have also been involved in Violeta's hospitalization, her transportation to Bucharest, treatments, investigations, food. Thank God we met this woman who does not have anyone except the three children, that we could guide her and take her to the best doctors because I don’t know what would have happened to her until now...
We helped Violeta, admitting her in the best hospitals and giving her the opportunity to follow the best treatments and beat cancer. While she was treated to the hospital, we demolished the old house and in its place we built a new house.
Seeing Violeta's case, Pro TV's Visuri la cheie (Extreme Makeover Home) team members offered to help us with the decoration of the house. The end result is a dream. We handed Violeta the key to the house exactly the day she came back from the hospital. Violeta now lives with the three children in the new house. Life has changed completely. The analysis are getting better and the children are much quieter and they go to school.
Thousands of thanks to all who prayed for Violeta, who, besides donations, gave her all the good thoughts and positive energy, which helped her enormously to fight the disease that crushed her.
